April 2026 Joyful to welcome new tenor, Richard Flewitt, to the Viva family. Richard has sung since childhood and choral music has featured highly in his life. He has sung with the Nottingham Chamber Singers that is a local part of Music for Everyone. Richard's first concert with us was at Beeston Methodist Church. |

March 2026 Announced that Viva will be holding a 'Come and Sing' Day with the ever wonderful Bob Chilcott at St Andrew's Jarrom Street, Leicester on Saturday 15th May 2027 as part of their 25th Anniversary Celebrations. more details about this to follow - watch this space! |

March 2026 Wonderful to welcome a new alto to the Viva family - Rebecca Goldring joins us with a wealth of singing experience. A member of Leicestershire Chorale and before that the Sitwell Singers from Derbyshire. You can find out a bit more about Rebecca on the 'Meet the Choir' Page. |

February 2026 Announced that Viva la Musica will repeat their performance of the Rachmaninov All Night Vigil at St Mary's Church in Derby on Saturday 11th September 2027. Watch out for more news of this exciting event. |

After ten years on the tenor line, Richard Thomas retired from singing in Viva. He will no doubt continue to sing with members in other places and continues to conduct his community choir 'The Wolds Choir'. Viva wish him well and thank him for all he has brought to the ensemble in the past decade. |

December 2025 Congratulations to soprano Gail Stiven on gaining her Trinity Grade 8 Singing with Merit Gail sang songs by Handel, Faure, Schumann, Vaughan Williams and Elgar. |

November 2025 At the AGM a new committee was voted in headed by Jeanne Simpson, chairman, along with Vicky Trendell, secretary, Eleri Bristow remaining treasurer and Jenny Kemp as member without portfolio! |

November 2025 After many years of tireless service, our much loved Chairman, John Thawley 'retired' from the Viva Committee. He remains a much valued and loved member of the first basses. |

October 2025 Welcome to new tenor, Dominic Remedios. A Cambridge Organ Scholar, Dominic comes to Viva with a wealth of knowledge and experience despite being the youngest member of Viva! |

August 2025 Congratulations to our alto Jenny Kemp who's marriage was celebrated at All Saint's Church in Thurcaston - with Viva singing at the ceremony. |

July 2025 Congratulations to tenor Phil Johnson gaining his ABRSM Grade 8 Singing with Merit. Phil sang songs by Quilter, Faure, Schubert and Gluck. |

June 2025 Congratulations to alto Lis Muller on passing her ARSM Diploma in Singing Performance with Merit. Giving a solo performance of 30 minutes, Lis sang repertoire by Purcell, Bach, Debussy, Vaughan Williams, Handel, Schumann and Elgar. |

May 2025 Welcome to new tenor, Vicky Trendell. Vicky is a seasoned and very experienced singer and also brings with her a great love of poetry and literature being an English teacher. |
