Dominic is a tenor and the youngest member of Viva!

I joined Viva la Musica in October 2025, after being impressed with their stylistic singing and musical craftsmanship in a concert of ‘Taverner and Taverner’. Having only just graduated from university, I bring some youth to group as I look to broaden and develop my singing experience whilst on a gap year before starting a permanent job in September 2026. I was lucky enough that my first engagement with Viva was a performance of Rachmaninov’s All Night Vigil which was very special to be a part of.

My primary music background is as an organist and conductor. I was the organ scholar at Downing College, Cambridge University from 2021-2025 whilst studying for a BA in Geography and an MPhil in Geographical Research. Previous to Downing, I held organ scholar posts at Loughborough Grammar School in sixth form and at All Saints with Holy Trinity, Loughborough.

Originally under the tutelage of David Cowen (Organist – Leicester Cathedral) for 5 years, I’ve given recitals on a variety of organs in the Leicestershire region including Leicester Cathedral, and my Downing Choir tour performances have since taken me to international venues such as Bergen Cathedral and Saint Thomas 5th Avenue, New York. I’ve also had the privilege of working with esteemed concert organists including Katelyn Emerson, Stephen Farr, and Nathan Laube. In the last couple of years, I have developed a passion for conducting, including evensong in UK Cathedrals (Peterborough, Ely, Norwich) as well as directing concerts in the Milan Duomo, Italy; Gothenburg, Sweden; and in Downing College Chapel with a performance of Part II of Handel’s Messiah.

Outside of choirs, I was a countertenor in the Downing College Barbershop Quartet (Griffin Singers) and am a keen jazz trumpeter. In addition to music, my hobbies focus on sport (except on concert days!) including long-distance running and competitive hockey when time allows.
